The women's section of the World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) office in Taif opened the first year-long women charity exhibition, Saturday. “Charity exhibitions by and large are held for men. This is the first women-only exhibition organized by WAMY with the aim to help serve the daughters of the nation,” said Samiya Salik, information officer at WAMY center. A sculpture on display is the most prominent model of the planet earth – a hand and different fingers indicating the problems of the Muslim world like poverty, ignorance, suffering, diseases, wars, criticism as an indication on WAMY efforts to alleviate these sufferings. The second sculpture on display, a fountain with the pictures f King Abdullah and Crown Prince Sultan, denotes a symbol of support for the Kingdom and Muslim around the world. WAMY supports and operates many educational institutions within and outside the Kingdom benefiting approximately 16,563 students. It also sends free medical teams to remote areas of the Muslim World.
