A husband and wife were taken to Al-Maweih Hospital after their vehicle struck four camels that had strayed onto the Dhulum to Al-Khurma Road on Wednesday. Police said that the four camels were all killed in the incident, leading to the road being blocked off and side roads opened as officials worked to remove them from the tarmac. Users of the thoroughfare have repeatedly appealed for fencing to guard the road from stray camels which have led to a number of similar accidents in recent months.
