Police are trying to identify a man who posed as an official inspector and stole property from a mosque in the Al-Salama district of Taif on Tuesday. A police report said the man stole metal doors and a water heater with the help of an Asian man employed at a nearby shop who was unaware he was assisting in a theft The innocent accomplice reportedly helped the thief carry the materials to his car which then made a swift getaway from the area when locals, suspicious of the individual's identity, called the police. A regional mosque administrator said that the Taif mayoralty had ordered mosques on the Al-Salama road to empty their premises of property ahead of demolishing for the thoroughfare to be expanded.
