Police tracked down and arrested two Filipina runaway maids wanted for tying up a special-needs child, for 14 hours and depriving her of food. Lieut. Gen. Ali Al-Ghamdi of Jeddah Police led the investigations that started with a lead from a Filipino, an illegal resident running a restaurant with a Filipino woman in Madain Fahad district, south of Jeddah. The watch on him paid off when he led police to a place where runaway maids were holed up. Police found the two runaway maids there. Ameera, the special needs child, was glad to hear of the arrest. She said she was surprised at the way the maids had treated though she had been kind to them. Ameera said the maids had previously denied her food and ill-treated her but she had not told her mother about it. __
