In “the largest coordinated raid of its kind,” nearly 100,000 bootleg music cassettes, CDs and album covers were seized in a raid in Jeddah. The Violation Administration from the Ministry of Culture and Information said the raid on an apartment building basement yielded 27,000 bootleg cassettes, 15,000 CDs and 55,000 counterfeit CD album covers, including illegally copied materials of the most recent releases by popular artists such as Mohammad Abdu and Elissa.
