Officials at Al-Qariyat Prison say they prevented an attempt to smuggle into the facility Captogon pills and hashish found on an inmate returning from prison leave. Officials said the inmate had been granted permission for spend leave with his family and found the materials upon his return on Sunday after a tip-off. A body search, the officials said, found no trace of any banned substance, but the prisoner was then taken for a hospital body scan which revealed the materials hidden in a package in his stomach. The prison added that four months ago an Indian laundry worker was arrested for attempting to smuggle drugs into the same facility.
