The Kingdom's embassy in the United Kingdom has closed down a fake website bearing its name and which presented distorted information about the Kingdom. Prince Muhammad Bin Nawaf Bin Abdul Aziz, the Kingdom's ambassador to the UK, issued directives to the Legal Administration at the embassy to find the source of the fake website and shut it down completely. The site was closed after the authority hosting the site was informed. The Kingdom's Embassy in the UK had received a report from a female student, studying at her own expense in Britain, about a website presenting itself as the official website of the Saudi embassy in Britain. The female student added that the website contained false information about the Kingdom. Prince Muhammad said that he valued the patriotic action of the female student and lauded her concern for the reputation of her country's embassy. He also praised her quick action in contacting the embassy. He called on Saudi male and female students studying in the UK to continue on their current path and to safeguard the reputation of their nation in Britain. Prince Muhammad called on Saudi students to verify the credibility of websites they have dealings with on the Internet, especially those representing the official authorities of the state. Students should also communicate with the embassy if they come across suspicious websites.
