Police and the Education Administration in Al-Nu'airiya in the northeast of the Eastern Province are investigating a Saudi woman's foiled attempt to abduct a girl from a primary school. A report registered with the police by the father of schoolgirl Wa'ad said that the headmistress stopped the attempt but subsequently failed to inform the authorities that the unidentified woman had entered the school premises, hit his daughter and attempted to drag her out of the building. “Although the principal stopped the attempt to abduct her, she made no effort to restrain the woman and did not report it,” said Atallah Al-Junaili. “I've asked for an investigation into the woman, the headmistress and the teacher of the class that Wa'ad was in at the time of the incident.” Police confirmed that an investigation had begun, while a Girls' Education official said that the authority had set up its own probe panel which was questioning the headmistress.
