A local community worker has called for a special society to be established to protect people with disabilities. Fadia Ramzi, Director of Nora Center for Children with Special Needs in Jeddah, called for the creation of a society that will ensure that they are not preyed on by criminals. Ramzi made the comments during a function patronized by Princess Nouf Bint Faisal Bin Saud Al-Saud on Monday. She stressed the importance of helping children with disabilities, to motivate them to participate in society. She said such functions break the psychological fear these children have to mingle in society. She added that the mothers of these children need training to help them communicate with their disabled children. Sakina Al-Amri, a mother, stressed the importance of designing a syllabus especially for children with special needs so that they can be taught at home.
