At the behest of the Prince Sultan Charity Foundation the Cabinet passed a ruling on Monday exempting disabled persons from paying fees for the recruitment of private drivers, housemaids and nurses and their exit and entry visas and iqama residency permit applications and renewals. The Cabinet instructed the Ministry of Social Affairs to establish a committee to draw up the necessary regulations for the move. Minister of Culture and Information Abdul Aziz Khoja said in a statement to Saudi Press Agency that the Cabinet also approved the restructuring of the Saudi Industrial Development Fund's Board of Directors for the next three years starting as of June 21, 2010, with chairmanship assumed by Abdul Rahman Bin Abdullah Al-Humaidi, Vice Governor of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency, and appointed members Tawfiq Bin Fouzan Al-Rabea, the Acting Undersecretary for Industrial Affairs at the Ministry of Trade and Industry; Ahmad Bin Habeeb Salah, Economic Advisor at the Ministry of Economy and Planning; Sultan Bin Jamal Shawli, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and Abdullah Bin Ibrahim Al-Aiyadi, Assistant Director General of the Public Investment Fund. The Cabinet also tasked the Ministry of Health with running and supervising two rehabilitation homes for the mentally ill, and ordered the establishment of rehabilitation homes in regions where they do not exist.
