Jeddah Municipality and the Royal Commission in Jubail and Yanbu have established the first office to control and support the project of Municipality in Jeddah. “The Project Management Office is linked to reconstruction projects, responsibility of administrative and technical supervision on construction projects and contracts for operation and maintenance of Jeddah including roads, bridges, tunnels, storm-water drainage projects, water and open areas projects,” Ibrahim Katabkhana, Undersecretary for reconstruction projects in the municipality said. The municipality will benefit from the office in the establishment and application of standards for project management. There will be international cooperation with the concerned project management, establishment and implementation of the faltering support projects to save time and reduce costs and achieve the required quality of customer satisfaction. It will also help the municipality obtain a certificate of international quality ISO for projects, Katabkhana said. “The office will aim to enhance the performance of project management and reconstruction projects for access to the highest levels, and upgrade project management applications to the highest academic levels as well as rehabilitation project managers to reach this level,” Katabkhana said. __
