The Mayor's Office in Jeddah has said that it will give priority for persons seeking licenses to run street food stalls during Ramadan to divorced women and widows. Wadee' Abu Al-Hamayel, the Al-Balad municipality district head, said that applications will be admitted from tomorrow Saturday for the period of a month, and that only Saudi nationals aged 30 or over may apply. A number of stall licenses have been set aside for divorced women and widows, he said, who must provide civil status documents confirming their status and the health certificate of the male employees under their sponsorship who will operate the stalls. Abu Al-Hamayel added that applicants are required to submit all documents in person.
