The Ministry of Interior is to introduce state-of-the-art technology into the work of the Kingdom's Border Guard to help tackle smuggling and persons entering the country illegally. Announced during a graduation ceremony at the Border Guard Naval Institute in Jeddah on Monday patronized by Prince Muhammad Bin Naif, Assistant Minister of Interior for Security Affairs, the move will see extensive use of advanced radar technology, optic fibers and thermal cameras. It will also give the Border Guards Command and Control Center in Riyadh, which is already connected up to all its regional command centers, greater control over the Kingdom borders.
