Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, has said that King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and Crown Prince Sultan, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense And Aviation, are striving to surmount difficulties blocking the development of unplanned and unregulated residential districts. Speaking in his capacity as Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Unplanned District Development in the Province of Makkah, Prince Naif praised Emir of Makkah Prince Khaled Al-Faisal for his work to see through development plans and called upon all relevant ministers to maintain efforts to “achieve the aims of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince to make the Jeddah region a model example through its projects and development”. Prince Naif made the remarks Tuesday while chairing the third meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Unplanned District Development in Makkah region, during which members reviewed proposed development plans for the east of the Jeddah governorate. The committee approved an executive committee report on a range of issues, and gave consent for the report's plans for suburban development, compensation for owners without title deeds of real estate located on land designated for unplanned district development in the Makkah province, and a proposal for development plans for streets in the Ghulail and Petromin districts. The meeting also looked at means of implementing a Royal decree for the construction of a new planned zone in the east of the Jeddah governorate and approved recommendations and measures to that end.
