Prince Misha'l Bin Majed Bin Abdul Aziz, the Governor of Jeddah, inaugurated on Monday at the Jeddah Center for Forums and Events the three-day Cityscape Jeddah 2010 - the largest real estate investment and development event in Saudi Arabia. More than 100 local and regional property investors, developers and service providers showcase their products and services in a 10,000 sqm of prime exhibition space. The exhibition will also feature the annual Saudi Arabia Real Estate Investment and Development Conference under the theme “Transparency, Investment Models and Future Partnerships.” Over 40 CEO-level speakers will talk about key industry issues and trends while more than 200 senior-level delegates will participate in 12 special panel sessions during the event. There is a huge demand for residential units as well as commercial buildings in Jeddah as population increases. According to Jeddah strategic plan, around 953,000 units will be needed in Jeddah until 2029 or more than 47,500 units each year for the next 20 years. The 2nd Cityscape Awards for Real Estate in Saudi Arabia was also held on Monday to recognize the highest achievements in the Saudi property sector and reward those companies that have excelled within their field.
