Rabeah, Minister of Health, held discussions in Riyadh Sunday with Francisco Sanchez, the United States' Deputy Secretary of International Trade, to boost cooperation on health care between the Kingdom and the US. Participants at the meeting included a US trade delegation representing some 15 companies, including those involved in construction of hospitals and health facilities, medicine producers and manufacturers of medical equipment, surgical thread, surgery tools and other industrial and pharmaceutical requirements. They also discussed cooperation on expanding the provision of health care services for citizens. Al-Rabeah also signed a joint cooperation agreement with US Health and Humanitarian Services Secretary, Kathleen Sebelius, in various fields including disease control and training. There will also be further cooperation with the research centers especially the disease control and prevention centers in Atlanta.
