874 auditoriums for girls, boys under construction

The Ministry of Education is building 874 multi-purpose auditoriums for girls and boys all over the Kingdom for extracurricular activities at a cost of SR6.4 billon, said Fahd Al-Hamad, Supervisor General of the Building Agency at the Ministry of Education here.
He said the projects being carried out by a Chinese consortium will be completed in 14 months.
The ministry is also carrying out other educational projects in various parts of the Kingdom at a total cost of SR21 billion.
Contractors have already handed over to the ministry 480 school buildings, enabling the ministry to get rid of 400 rented buildings.
He said the major obstacle delaying the implementation of the ministry's projects was the lack of plots of land.
