Health Affairs in Al-Ahsa opened an inquiry Thursday into a female doctor who allegedly left a cloth inside a woman giving birth at a maternity hospital in the Eastern Province. The doctor, a resident of Kingdom, was reported by the husband of the woman after his wife begin suffering stomach pains following her discharge from hospital, and a subsequent scan at a different facility revealed the presence of a foreign object. A procedure was carried out to remove the cloth 27 days after the woman had given birth.
