World Environment Day (WED) will be celebrated here Saturday at the Najran Chamber of Commerce and Industry, bringing together a number of top officials. Prince Turki Bin Nasser Bin Abdul Aziz, head of the Presidency of Meteorology and Environment (PME) and chairman of the Saudi Environment Society, and Prince Misha'l Bin Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, Emir of Najran, will attend the event. WED is celebrated all over the world on June 5. Officials here will discuss challenges facing the world's environment, the role of man in combating all types of pollution and to conserve planet earth. WED is aimed at discussing and exchanging ideas, generating effective solutions, spreading awareness of environmental problems and improving the behavior of individuals towards the planet. This takes place through lectures, symposiums, workshops and media campaigns.
