year-old boy was found Saturday in good health after tricking his family and authorities into believing he had committed suicide on Friday in Khamis Mushayt. The teen left a fraudulent suicide note wrapped in his clothes at a riverbank before Friday prayers and went missing. The deceitful note came to the unsuspecting authorities, prompting them to launch a search campaign throughout the city. The story unfolded when the father of the boy, who is also an imam, asked him to call for Friday prayer at his mosque but the boy didn't show up for the prayers. Until well in the afternoon, there was no trace of the boy. The family started to get worried, looking for him around the city. At a riverbank outside the city, his clothes were found with a little note of suicide asking his parents to forgive him and pray for him. No other physical evidence was found. Then the father reported the incident to the authorities. Under the impression that the boy may have thrown himself into one of the farm wells or lakes, the sub-aqua team searched the river and at least 3 wells but in vain. There were no signs of hope. Only then the father asked them to stop the search, praying to Allah to forgive his son and reward him for his patience. But the authorities continued looking for him until he was found. Spokesman of Asir police Col. Abdullah Al-Qarni said investigation has been launched to determine the boy's motives for the suicide hoax. - Okaz __
