Makkah Police have ordered a security investigation committee to be formed to look into the death of a teenager who was thrown from a moving vehicle near a gas station in Al-Laith two months ago. Dhafer Al-Mahdawi, 18, was reportedly forced into the vehicle by three persons and died in hospital from injuries incurred when he was later thrown from the car. Makkah Police have now requested that the driver of the vehicle be questioned. Al-Laith Police classified the incident as a traffic accident, while Saeed Al-Mahdawi, the father of the victim, maintains that the death was criminal and has refused to take possession of his son's body from the morgue until a full investigation clarifies the circumstances behind the incident. “I hope that investigations can be conducted soon as I want to be able to bury my son as quickly as possible,” he said.
