I was in a foreign country and a brother gave me some money to take care of as a trust. He knew that if this money was found in my possession at the airport, it would be confiscated from me. This is because that country does not allow money more than a certain limit to be taken out. So, the money was found in my possession and taken away. I also had some of my own money in what was confiscated. What is the ruling on returning the entrusted money? A – Deposit is a trust and if it was lost while in one's hands without injustice on his part, then there is no obligation upon him. If the matter is as you state, then you are not obliged to compensate him. And Allah is the Granter of success. – Permanent Committee for Islamic Research and Verdicts; Fatawa Islamiyah, vol. 5, p. 22 __
