The Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, the Hai'a, arrested here an Arab woman who claimed to possess magic powers and conned several women into paying large sums of money in exchange for casting spells on their husbands. The Arab woman's husband was also arrested. The Hai'a had been monitoring the woman for more than 10 months before an undercover agent succeeded in convincing the alleged sorceress to cast a spell on his “wife” for SR25,000. The Hai'a arrested the suspects when they were collecting the money.
