King Saud University has launched its Smart City project, the university's electronic learning homepage and virtual television studio of its production and documentation center. Dr. Abdullah Al-Othman, President of King Saud University, stressed the importance of electronic and distance learning projects at the university. He said these projects are important for the university's development. Dr. Sami Bin Muhammad Al-Humoud, Dean of Electronic and Distance Learning, said these projects involve education techniques, training systems, the electronic learning system and the development of digital curricula. Meanwhile on Tuesday, Dr. Musaed Bin Muhammad Al-Salman, Dean of the Medicine Faculty and supervisor of university hospitals, launched the King Saud University Chair for Epidemics and Public Health. Al-Salman said the chair will address issues of public health in Saudi and Gulf societies, set up educational programs, help organize training courses, produce consultations and services for society.
