Two sheep thieves have been arrested after the victim of one of their thefts came across his animals for sale at a local cattle market. Police called to the site were informed by the market auctioneer that the animals had no sales record, but investigations led to the detention of one of the suspected thieves who confessed during questioning and also identified his accomplice. The two detained were reportedly responsible for a number of cattle thefts in Bahra and Hadaa'. “They have both confessed and have been taken to jail,” said Jeddah Police spokesman Misfir Al-Ju'aid. “Cattle markets need to take greater care in ensuring that animals up for auction are properly documented so their history can be traced along with their owners.”
