Kevin Youkilis and David Ortiz homered to lead the resurgent Boston Red Sox to a 6-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League Monday. Ortiz homered for the fifth time in his past nine games, hitting a solo shot off Wade Davis (4-4) in the second. Davis walked in a run and yielded RBI singles to Adrian Beltre and Jeremy Hermida during a three-run third. Youkilis, who is batting .400 (12 for 30) with five homers and 12 RBIs over his past nine games, made it 6-0 with a two-run shot in the fourth. The Red Sox climbed a season-best four games over .500 (25-21) with their third straight win on a difficult road trip that began in Philadelphia. Boston starter Clay Buchholz (6-3) won his eighth consecutive road start dating to last August. He allowed one run _ Carlos Pena's homer – over six innings. Blue Jays 6, Angels 0: In Anaheim, Brett Cecil held the Angels scoreless into the eighth inning, steering Toronto past Los Angeles. Cecil (4-2) has won consecutive starts since allowing eight runs in two innings May 14 at Texas. The Angels' only hits against him were a two-out single by No. 9 batter Kevin Frandsen in the third inning and a one-out single by Hideki Matsui in the eighth. Cecil walked his next batter and was removed after 110 pitches. Adam Lind drove in a pair of runs for the Blue Jays. The Angels managed only two baserunners during the first seven innings and became the last team in the majors to be shut out. Los Angeles starter Joe Saunders (3-6) was charged with three runs and five walks over 6 1-3 innings. White Sox 7, Indians 2: In Cleveland, Mark Teahen drove in three runs as Chicago snapped a five-game losing skid to Cleveland. Teahen hit a two-run double in Chicago's four-run first inning off Justin Masterson (0-5), who lost his 11th straight decision. White Sox starter John Danks (4-3) got his first win in five starts, allowing two runs in five innings. Alex Rios hit his ninth homer for the White Sox. Chicago's Omar Vizquel got his 2,764th career hit, tying Hall of Famer Luis Aparicio, his boyhood idol, for the second-most by a shortstop behind Yankees star Derek Jeter. Reds beat Pirates Drew Stubbs had three hits, and right-hander Aaron Harang singled home a run and ran home another during Cincinnati's five-run fourth inning, leading the Reds to a 7-5 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates Monday. Harang (3-5) singled for a 3-2 lead, then barely scored from first on Orlando Cabrera's double. He allowed four runs in 6 1-3 innings, including Ronny Cedeno's two-run homer. Stubbs added an RBI double and a solo homer. Left-hander Brian Burres (2-2) walked the first two batters in the fourth to start the pivotal rally, which turned on Harang's two-out hit and his all-out dash. Left-hander Arthur Rhodes pitched the eighth, extending his scoreless-innings streak to 16 1-3 innings. Francisco Cordero gave up a double in the ninth while earning his 15th save in 18 tries.
