The Royal Thai Consulate General here held an election for president of the Thai Community Club in the Western Region of Saudi Arabia on Thursday. Approximately 1,500 Thai citizens residing in Jeddah, Makkah, and Taif cast their ballots at the Consulate General. On the occasion, newly arrived Consul General Chalee Sakolvari took the opportunity to introduce himself to the members of the Thai community and to express his appreciation for the kind support rendered to the Consulate General in the past. He emphasized the need for continued mutual cooperation to strengthen the Thai community in the western region. He also urged the community to strictly observe the rules and regulations of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
