Edwin Encarnacion returned from injury to hit one of Toronto's four home runs as the Blue Jays romped to an 11-2 win over the Minnesota Twins in the American League Tuesday. Encarnacion had been out for a month with a shoulder injury. Back in the lineup, he started the homer barrage with a two-run shot in the second. Vernon Wells, Aaron Hill and Lyle Overbay also went long for Toronto, which leads the majors with 65 home runs this season. Blue Jays starter Shaun Marcum (3-1) won his third straight decision, allowing one run in seven innings. Minnesota starter Carl Pavano (4-4) was pounded for six runs in four innings. He has a 6.21 ERA in 10 career games against Toronto. Red Sox 7, Yankees 6: In New York, Jeremy Hermida hit a tiebreaking, two-run double in the ninth inning and Boston took advantage of two late errors to rally from five runs down and beat New York. New York played the game under protest after Boston pitcher Josh Beckett left with supposed back tightness following Robinson Cano's two-run double in the fifth which made it 5-0 to the Yankees. The visitors said Beckett showed no sign of injury and his replacement shouldn't have been given extended time to warm up. An error by New York right fielder Marcus Thames helped the Red Sox win. Hermida, a defensive replacement, doubled off Yankees closer Mariano Rivera (0-1) to snap a 5-5 tie. Red Sox closer Jonathan Papelbon got his 10th season save. Boston's Daniel Bard (1-1) got one out for the win. Rays 6, Indians 2: In St. Petersburg, Evan Longoria drove in three runs to help Tampa Bay down Cleveland. Longoria, who has 21 RBIs in his past 19 games, had a run-scoring double off David Huff (1-6) in the third and a two-run triple in a four-run sixth. The Rays improved baseball's top record to 28-11 heading into a two-game series at the New York Yankees. Tampa Bay starter David Price (6-1) won his fourth straight decision and became the AL's first six-game winner this year. He held the Indians to an unearned run over six innings. Cleveland shortstop Jason Donald went 2 for 3 with a walk and also scored a run in his major league debut. Rangers 8, Angels 7: In Arlington, Michael Young had three hits and three RBIs, including a tiebreaking single that sent AL West-leading Texas over Los Angeles. Elvis Andrus doubled in the sixth inning off Trevor Bell (1-1) for his third hit and scored on Young's bloop to right. Darren O'Day (1-1), the second of five Rangers relievers, struck out two in a scoreless inning. Neftali Feliz worked a perfect ninth with two strikeouts for his 11th save. Young, Ian Kinsler and Vladimir Guerrero homered for the Rangers. Torii Hunter and Juan Rivera each hit a two-run shot in the Angels' five-run fourth. White Sox 6, Tigers 2: In Detroit, Juan Pierre's two-run double and run-saving catch in the fourth inning helped Chicago beat Detroit. Athletics 6, Mariners 5, 10 innings: In Oakland, Kurt Suzuki's RBI single with two outs in the 10th inning lifted Oakland over Seattle. Orioles 4, Royals 3, 10 innings: In Baltimore, Nick Markakis singled in the winning run in the 10th inning, giving Baltimore a comeback win over Kansas City.
