The Court of Appeal has approved a Jeddah Court verdict of a six-year prison term and 100 lashes for a 16-year-old African girl who was found guilty of having sex with her 17-year-old brother and for killing the baby she conceived. The brother was sentenced to one year in prison and 100 lashes. The verdict also recommended deportation of the siblings. The prosecutor had demanded the death sentence after it was proven that the baby was drowned in a bathtub. Sources said the police found the baby's decomposed body on the roof of the building where the two teenagers lived, after the neighbors reported a smell. The DNA tests showed the baby's parents were the two siblings. The girl confessed but the boy denied the charges.
