The Control and Investigation Board (CIB) has reopened an investigation into 17 employees of the Hail Health Affairs department for alleged embezzlement of over SR500,000. According to a source, the fraud was in connection with furniture, carpets and maintenance work carried out at a local government hospital. The case had been referred to the Administrative Court - the Board of Grievances in Riyadh after investigations were carried out. But the court wanted more details of the crime, including getting receipts so that the culprits could be identified. The investigation, the source said, was carried out on the order of the Administrative Court in Riyadh. The Administrative Court in Hail will receive the case file in the next few days. “Investigations carried out by the CIB investigators resulted in an increase in the number of accused to 17. The list includes technicians, the Purchase Department and fund personnel,” the source said. “It will be looked into by the Hail Board of Grievances next month,” he added.
