year-old man drowned on Monday while swimming with friends and relatives at a two-meter-deep lake in Wadi Ashira described by the Civil Defense as a “death trap” of thick mud and clay. “We would warn the public against swimming at the site and all others like it which contain thick mud and can make it difficult to get out of,” said Khaled Al-Qahtani, spokesman for the Civil Defense in the region. “The muddy floors of the lakes can trap feet and suck young people down.”
