Princess Adila Bint Abdullah Child Cancer Awards will be distributed on Saturday. This was announced following a board meeting in Riyadh. The awards, which will be handed out at the Four Seasons Hotel's Kingdom Hall, have a total value of SR300,000 for the various categories of Scientific Research and Medical Services related to child cancer, Humanitarian Services, “Will and Challenge”, and “Children and Family”. According to Fahd Al-Tayyash, the Secretary General of the award, the first two prizes are given for significant work in children's cancer or the development of drugs to treat cancer in children, while the Will and Challenge prize is awarded to a child suffering from cancer whose family “embodies the spirit of determination and will in fighting the illness”. “The occasion will also see the performance of an operetta by over 40 children,” Al-Tayyash said. Nominations for the awards are proposed by scientific research institutions, universities and medical institutes, and others.
