learning and Distance Learning has launched its virtual classroom “Jusour” system for distance learning and connecting students with faculty members. The system allows voice and video communication, chatting facilities, file sharing, and a virtual whiteboard for staff to download presentations and comment directly to students on slides with illustration tools, and a range of other interactive facilities. According to Taibah University's Dean of Distance Learning, Mishan Al-Otaibi, Taibah was one of the first Saudi universities to introduce virtual classroom and lecture services in its Islamic Culture 401 course this year for Engineering College students with scholarships at Pennsylvania State University in the US. “Taibah University will use the National Center's virtual classroom service for a number of public and specialized courses of the university's branches in the province of Madina,” Al-Otaibi said. “Taibah University makes use of all the center's programs and projects, and we have created more than 620 courses through the Jusour system.” The Jusour service is available in both Arabic and English.
