The Training Faculty at Naif Arab University for Security Sciences is holding a two-day seminar on human trafficking for the Supreme Judicial Council. The seminar starting Monday will address the skills required and the role of international organizations and Saudi Arabia in countering human trafficking, as well as legislation, international law and criminal justice. “The seminar is part of our collaboration with the Supreme Judicial Council to highlight efforts to combat the problem and keep participants up-to-date with developments and changes in law, however minor,” said Abdul Aziz Al-Ghamdi, president of Naif Arab University for Security Sciences. “The university gives the area special attention and has dedicated a large portion of its activities to it, and I hope the seminar, for which the university has carefully selected a scientific board, will produce significant recommendations concerning this and other crimes.” Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, Saleh Humaid, said the seminar formed part of training projects for judges to study laws arising from international agreements. “It works on the principle of academic and professional partnerships to share their experience from which judges will benefit in their judicial and social work,” Humaid said.
