Crown Steel pull off thrilling win

AOT My Style downed Usman Gems by 24 runs, AOT Sonex defeated IDB by 4 wickets, My Care Hala thrashed Fine Sweets by huge 8 wickets and Crown Steel pulled off a well deserved win against Al-Saudi XI by just 5 runs in the Premiere League of the Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) League Championships.
In the Afternoon Tournament, Zultrack won against Fuchs Hamrani, GCI humbled Red Sea Paints, Safra Prime qualified for the knockout stage by winning against Usman Gems Eagle and MCC downed Micro Engineering to make the last 8.
AOT My Style, batting first, blasted 222-1 against Usman Gems in the allotted 20 overs. Usman plundered the Gems bowlers all over the ground to compile 102 in 50 balls with one six and 17 fours. Nadeem made 60 off 31 balls with 5 sixes and 4 fours and Rashid Malik contributed 35 in just 15 balls. Usman Gems, in reply, fell short by 24 runs to be stranded at 198-7 after the top order failed. Usman Jani tried his best with 42 off 20 balls and Hafiz Shahzad contributed 35 with 7 fours. Siddique took 2 wickets.
IDB batting first against AOT Sonex tumbled to 137 as Imran and Majid grabbed 3 wickets each. Khalid Butt scored 36 and Ramazan hit 32. AOT Sonex reached 138-6 with 5 overs to spare. Naeem Shah stroked 36 in 16 balls and Faisal scored a 14-ball 28. Misbah took 3-19 for IDB.
My Care Hala again underlined its superiority by thrashing Fine Sweets by huge 8 wickets. Fine Sweets, batting first, put up 176-6. Veteran Naseem made 58 with 6 fours, Gazzafi stroked 45 in 21 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes and Salman hit 45 in 32 balls. Qaiser grabbed 3-19. My Care Hala responded with 178-2 as Kashif blasted 101 in 56 balls with 6 sixes and 9 fours. Shahbaz chipped in with 45 off 16 balls and Nadeem made 32.
Crown Steel, batting first, piled up 187 against Al-Saudi XI. In response, Saudi openers Afzaal made 54 in 35 balls and Qaiser contributed 62 with 7 boundaries to bring up a 115-run opening partnership. But once they were back in the pavilion the rest of the batsmen failed and it was stranded at 182-6. Shoeb took 2-33.
In the Afternoon Tournament, Zultrack racked up 185-2 through Imran (61 in 37 balls) and Khadim (50 in 38 balls). Mujahid got 2-19. In response, Fuchs Hamrani reached 177-7, falling short by 8 runs. Khuban hit 3 sixes and 2 fours to make 42 and Waqas made 32. Amaan and Subail took 2 wickets each.
Red Sea Paints piled up 191-5 against GCI. Mazhar made 67 in 39 balls, Imran Iqbal hit 36, Sharif remained not out on 33 and Salim Butt smacked 26. Zaheer grabbed 3-36. In reply, GCI opener Ayaz Jafri remained unbeaten on 79 made in 52 balls with 11 hits to the fence along with Pervaiz who plundered 86 runs in 42 balls with 4 sixes and 9 fours. They set up a record 182 runs.
Usman Gems Eagle was folded for 101. Riyaz contributed 28 against Safra Prime. Muzammil bowled well to grab 3-15, Abdullah Zahid scalped 3-16 and Adalat took 2-23. Safra Prime achieved the required target with all wickets intact to win the match comfortably. __
