As part of its modernization plan, the national carrier Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAA) will receive Monday its first new Airbus 330 at the French city of Toulouse. The plane is the first of the eight 330s that SAA plans to acquire to add to its 70-aircraft Airbus and Boeing fleet to better serve its domestic, regional and international operational goals. “This new Airbus 330, which has a capacity of 36 seats in horizon class and 262 in economy will be a great addition to the airline. It can help us implement our current and future marketing and operational plans,” Abdullah Al-Ajhar, SAA's Assistant Director for Public Relations, said. He added that the new aircraft is the latest in the world and is increasingly in demand by international air carriers due to its excellent operational efficiency. “With its quietness and high specifications that meet the requirements of all international air transport companies, the plane can help achieve the highest possible level of services we look for. Subsequently, it can also attain the needed targeted economic returns,” Ajhar added. The new aircraft will be used on the company's Asian and Mideast sectors, he said.
