Security agencies in Makkah and Jeddah are investigating claims by a 25-year-old woman that she was kidnapped and raped by two unidentified men. Jeddah police have referred the case to the police authorities in Makkah because the woman claimed the incident took place there. Police in east Jeddah had received a report from Al-Thaqr Hospital indicating that it had received an exhausted young woman claiming that she was kidnapped and attacked by two unknown persons. The Janoubiya police department opened an investigation into the allegation. Col. Muhammad Al-Wudhainani, Director of the Janoubiya police, who led the investigating team, referred the woman to Al-Thaqr Hospital to be medically examined. However, the hospital referred the woman to the Maternity and Children's Hospital in Jeddah to see whether she had been sexually assaulted. According to sources, the woman went missing from her family's house in Al-Aziziya District in Makkah. The family reported her disappearance to the police. Her private driver told investigators that he had dropped her at her brother's house just before she disappeared. In her testimony to investigators, the woman claimed that two young men had kidnapped her from the street. She said she was taken by surprise by the two men.
