A plan is being devised to clearly outline the boundaries of Ain Al-Azizia in Jeddah because it appears that some individuals may have encroached on the land. This land is an endowment by the late King Abdul Aziz (may Allah rest his soul in peace). Once the land is demarcated, it will be submitted to the higher authorities for final approval. Okaz has learnt that the Ain Al-Azizia Authority has allegedly been unable to stop encroachers and have also not filed complaints against them. This is happening at a time when some citizens have filed lawsuits against the authority and the Jeddah Mayoralty. The source has confirmed that the Ain Al-Azizia endowment has land in south and east Jeddah. It is authorized to sell any piece of land falling within its borders. It can also give its permission for the registration of title deeds for the land sold in courts and through the offices of notaries public. He said an independent committee, formed under a royal order and which consists of a judge from the General Court in Jeddah and two other judges from the Administrative Court, is authorized to issue permits for selling plots. Ain Al-Azizia is an endowment which includes all land that falls within its borders. It has been supplying Jeddah with water from Wadi Fatima, 65 kilometers from Jeddah. The late King Faisal had appointed a supervisor for the endowment and also granted the endowment a piece of land at the Old Airport to be its headquarters.
