The body of a boy who drowned in a swimming pool at the King Fahd Coastal City in Jeddah a month ago is still in the morgue at the International Medical Center pending further investigations. The boy drowned during a school visit to the sports city. Majed Ba-Saeed, the father of the boy, said he will not give up the case until investigations have revealed those were involved in his son's death. The case file is in the possession of the Jeddah Downtown Police Department. The Bureau of Investigation and Prosecution has refused to review it because it falls outside its jurisdiction, Ba-Saeed said. “I grieve with every passing day that my son has not yet been laid to rest in his grave,” he said. The police have not yet investigated the school's officials who supervised the trip or even any of the workers at the coastal city, he added. The body may not be buried until the guardian (the father in this case) clears the case of any foul play, he was told by investigators. Ba-Saeed has insisted on further investigation into his son's death. “I want to know who was responsible for my son's death,” he said. “The school took my boy on the visit without my permission. Isn't that enough to pin down responsibility,” he said. “Wasn't the rescue guard at the swimming pool busy with a phone call when my son was screaming for help?” he said. “And now they want me to just let it go.” Lt. Col. Misfer Al-Juaid, spokesman for the Jeddah Police Department, said that the police are still investigating the death.
