‘Poverty is the killer of sense of humor.' This was the topic of an Urdu debate in which 22 students from grade 9 and 10 of the Urdu section of Pakistan International School Jeddah (English medium) participated. Mohammed Danyal, from the panel in the favor of the topic, tried to convince the audiences with logic. He ended his speech with the verses “I saw the two children were fighting on a garbage mountain just for a piece of fruit.” However, Mohammed Ali Imran impressed the audience with quotations from Hadith to prove that sense of humor is part of one's nature, it doesn't die with the problems of life. His panel was adjudged the winner of the debate. Saher Kamran, the principal of PISJ, thanked the guests and audience.
