A delegation of 50 ambassadors paid a visit Thursday to the King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) here, a leading development in the Kingdom. The city was launched by the King in Rabigh on Dec. 20, 2005. The delegation was received by Amr Bin Abdullah Al-Dabbagh, Governor of the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA) and President of the Board of Directors of the Economic Cities Commission. He also touched on the “7x24x60 Program”, which makes it mandatory for all the economic cities in the Kingdom to provide all government services to investors and residents within 60 minutes, around-the-clock and throughout the week. He said the measure is meant to make the economic cities one of the most attractive and competitive investment areas in the world. Fahd Bin Abdul Mohsin Al-Rasheed, Executive President of Emar Economic City, said there has been a focus on infrastructure at the city, especially the roads and telecommunication networks. He said the city will be at the crossroads between Makkah, Madina and Jeddah. He said the KAEC opens its doors to all visitors. He pointed out that since its establishment it has received several heads of state, senior officials and businessmen.
