International Indian School Jeddah (IISJ) and Eastern BCC recorded fine victories in the fifth week matches of the 13th SIFF-JNH Soccer 2010 at the Sharbatly ground here. The IISJ boys stunned a strong Blue Star B 2-0 in the Second Division and Eastern BCC blanked Real Kerala FC 3-0 in the First Division. The 13th championship which is being organized by Saudi Indian Football Forum (SIFF), is mainly sponsored by Jeddah National Hospital (JNH) and supported by Alpha Cargo, Comfort Travel Group, Eastern Curry Powder, Shifa Jeddah Polyclinic, Newsline Cargo and Al-Abeer Polyclinic. Teams were introduced to guests P.P. Rahim and Azeez Kormath before the matches. IISJ, which is sponsored by Alpha Cargo, stole the show in the opening match as the schoolboys first resisted their much senior footballers in the first half and then ran them over in the second session with two brilliant goals. During the first half IISJ captain and defender Zaman marshalled his resources well to withstand the pressure from a strong Blue Star. The schoolboys began threatening Blue Star right from the resumption after the break. After a nice Khalid-Nabeel move which saw the latter blasting over, Blue Star missed a golden chance when its striker Rafeeq failed to react to a wonderful cross from Alimon. Soon, IISJ wrested the initiative when the midfield livewire Khalid dribbled past some defenders and fed Hisham who in return slipped the ball to Emad to score. IISJ struck again after five minutes off a foul kick. Captain Zaman nicely placed the ball for Omer to fire home. In the second match, after a barren first half which saw Real Kerala FC survive due to fine goalkeeping by Thottoli Shoib, Eastern BCC dominated the proceedings completely. The talented Eastern BCC which resort to smooth one-touch passing game made things easy in the second half. Sakeer struck twice to take complete control and its playmaker Jazeer Tharayil, who was the brain behind BCC attacks, completed the tally. Its star forward Shanavaz, though failed to score, proved a real threat throughout. Friday's matches: Combined Brothers vs. Rainbow Sports Club (5.30 P.M.) and Western Union ACC vs. Mohsen Cargo
