Saudi Arabian Airlines said Sunday that it has joined the SADAD nationwide electronic payment system permitting customers to pay for their flight bookings directly through their bank accounts via the Internet, telephone or ATM outlets. Khaled Abdullah Almolhem, Director General of Saudi Arabian Airlines, also reminded customers with paid and confirmed tickets that they can also print out boarding cards 48 hours prior to their flight times. “The moves will speed up travel procedures and reduce waiting time at airports,” Almolhem said. Earlier this week, Saudia increased baggage weight allowances for domestic flights. As a result of the new allowances, first class and business class passengers will now be allowed to check-in two pieces of luggage weighing a total of 50 kg. In the past, first and business class passengers were allowed only 40 kg. Those traveling on economy class will be allowed to check-in one piece of luggage weighing 25 kg, whereas in the past they were only allowed to check-in luggage not exceeding 20 kg.
