Saudi Arabia's electricity generation is expected to increase by an estimated 79.4 percent between 2009 and 2019, while total investment is forecast to reach $80 billion for both electricity generation and distribution, according to the new Saudi Arabia Power Report from BMI. The report further noted that by 2014, Saudi Arabia will account for a sizeable 17.18 percent of power generation in the Middle East and Africa, as the MEA region expects to generate up to 1,659 terawatt hours by 2014, increasing by 31.3 percent from 2009. Against this backdrop, “Saudi Elenex 2010 - The 13th International Electrical Engineering, Power Generation & Distribution Exhibition” has been organized to complement the increasing number of power infrastructure projects across the country by providing the perfect platform to showcase the latest technologies, products and services from leading international suppliers and technology vendors. It will be held on May 24-27 at the Riyadh Exhibition Centre. Khaled Daou, project manager of SAUDI ELENEX at Riyadh Exhibitions Company, said: “Saudi Arabia's steadily growing population and increasing industrialization have been pushing the country's electricity requirements, while increasing the demand for more efficient and advanced electricity generation and distribution solutions. In this regard, we are organizing Saudi Elenex 2010 to provide a convenient and highly accessible platform for local, regional and global investors to facilitate multi-billion-dollar projects and discuss long-term business deals in Saudi Arabia.” Saudi Elenex 2010 will present a complete range of electricity generation and distribution solutions and will be held concurrently with Saudi Luminex 2010 - The 10th International Lighting Equipment Show, Saudi Aircon 2010 - The 11th International Exhibition on Air-Conditioning, Heating, Ventilation & Refrigeration and Saudi Water Technology 2010 - The 8th International Exhibition for Water Technology, Desalination Plants and Accessories Show. “With the integration of Saudi Luminex 2010, Saudi Aircon 2010 and Saudi Water Technology 2010, we are looking forward to offering a genuinely comprehensive networking activity that caters to all niche markets. Exhibitors and trade visitors can certainly expect greater business value and more networking opportunities with the combination of three high-profile exhibitions under one roof,” Daou added.
