Published in The Saudi Gazette on 04 - 05 - 2010

Al Rabie Saudi Foods Co. Ltd. recently honored Eng. Mishaal Al Sederi, head of the KSA Automobile and Motorcycle Association, for his valuable contributions to the success of the Al Sharqiya Rally 2010 held last April 17-22 in the Eastern Province. Eng. Al Sederi was handed a commemorative plaque during a meeting at the Ettifaq Club headquarters.
Al Sederi in return presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Al Rabie for its active role in this year's rally. The competition was organized to complement efforts to further develop sports tourism in line with the vision of Prince Muhammad Bin Fahd, Emir of the Eastern Province, who wants to expedite the overall development of the province and strengthen its position as an excellent tourism and business destination.
“We are pleased to honor Eng. Al Sederi for helping ensure the success of a world-class competition that highlights the cultural, economic, sport and tourism potentials of the Eastern Province. This reflects our commitment to recognize excellence and creativity and promote unique experiences that complement the KSA's continued success at various levels. We also thank Eng. Al Sederi for the token of appreciation he gave us; it will serve as a motivation for Al Rabie to keep on supporting various leading events and activities in the Kingdom,” said Monther Bin Trad Al Harthi, CEO of Al Rabie.
Eng. Al Sederi said: “The Al Sharqiya Rally is an important event that receives substantial support from both public and private organizations. It has been helpful in further strengthening the regional and international presence of the Eastern Province. We would not have been able to make this edition a success without the support and participation of our partners and sponsors, who provided us with the capabilities and assistance necessary to apply the highest international standards. Al Rabie was among the key partners who helped us in realizing the Rally's objectives.”
Al Sharqiya Rally 2010 was held in Al Zabna along the Gulf coast and lasted six days. The rally commenced with a tour in King Fahd City's Half Moon Bay, with other stages completed across the Al Zabna region. Winners were awarded during a ceremony held at the Ettifaq Club headquarters in Dammam. The competition featured several activities, such as the Auto-Cross and Rally-Cross races participated in by professional rally drivers from the KSA and the GCC and a series of training courses for media professionals, race officials and organizers.
