Relatives of the 23-year-old man who has confessed to murdering his father and a brother last week in Al-Ahsa have said that he was “jealous because his brothers were loved more than him”. A half-brother of the suspect said he would frequently return home “drunk and threaten to kill his father and brothers and burn the house down”. “He had attacked my father on several previous occasions and continually threatened my brothers,” he said. The alleged killer, he said, was forced to live with his divorced mother and his sisters in a separate house after making numerous threats. “My father even went to the police because he'd been attacked by my brother, but he got him out of jail and withdrew his complaint because he felt sorry for him,” he said. “As soon as he was out though, he went straight to my dad's office and attacked him in front of everyone there.” The suspect, according to the accounts of relatives, entered the house at night and stabbed his victims while they slept. He then proceeded to the room where his sisters were sleeping, broke down the door and ordered them out of the house “so they wouldn't see what he'd done”. One of the girls, however, called the police. Saudi Gazette reported on April 29 that the suspect had stabbed to death his 55-year-old father and 25-year-old brother. The deceased father had nine children from three marriages and was divorced from his first two wives. The suspect, according to police, has confessed to the killings, saying he was motivated by a “family dispute”.
