Prince Khaled Bin Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz, Assistant Minister of Defense and Aviation for Military Affairs says the Kingdom's armed forces are ready to deal with any aggression. He said the armed forces, with the support of King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and the Crown Prince, are undergoing continuous development. Addressing a banquet to honor the families of martyrs in the Northern Region, he said: “The armed forces have been making honorable sacrifices to defend the cause of the Ummah. The field units in Tabuk have made history with their heroic participation in Palestine, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Kuwait and Somalia.” “It is an honor for the participating units that they bear the signature of the leaders of these countries. Apart from this, the armed forces have fought bravely locally at the Al-Haram and Al-Khafji battles, where some of its brave men fell in the battlefield of honor, sacrificing their lives for the sake of their beloved country,” Prince Khaled said. Referring to the border incidents, Prince Khaled said: “When some infiltrators tried to sneak into our southern borders, our heroes rushed from the northern and western regions to fight for the sovereignty of their country and security and safety of their land. On these battlefields the Saudi fighters demonstrated very advanced fighting tactics and training. This explains their success in expelling the aggressors.” He said the joint exercises between American and Saudi forces are meant to develop the fighting and defensive capabilities of the Saudi armed forces. This reflects the depth of the historical relations between the two friendly countries, he added. He paid tribute to the American forces who participated in the exercise and who made it a success, along with the Saudi Royal Land Forces.
