The Removal and Encroachments Committee at the Eastern Province Emir's Office has reportedly sent out letters to a variety of government departments demanding to know the precise measures they have taken to prevent previous encroachments reoccurring. Sources said that the committee had been forced to intervene to remove illegal property from government land on several occasions, and that it subsequently told local authorities to introduce measures to ensure no repetition. The committee is now requesting detailed explanations of the measures they have put in place, and once the information is gathered it will present its conclusions to the regional Emir. The Encroachments Committee has in recent times demolished and removed all illegal property on government land along the Al-Khobar to Dhahran Highway.
