Host Jeddah International School Tennis Club's (JISTC) team Dodie secured the Category B1 title via a decisive third set over Danube Dynamics 2-1, King Abdul Aziz Medical City (KAMC) stopped Maghrabi Eye Center (MEEC) 2-1 to enter the final in Class C and in the Higher Mix (HMX), Team Sarawat shatttered KAMC's efforts with a 2-1 win to book its seat in the finals of the women's section of the 2nd Al-Baik Tennis Challenge 2010. Danube Dynamics surged ahead when its tandem of Yeye Balde and Fenn Dela Torre defeated JIS's Nadine Lacsina and Bing Cabuquin at 8-4 to draw the first point. In the penultimate singles match, JIS-Dodie's Alice Toling covered all angles of the court with magnificent returns and half-volleys to subdue Dang Bangit with an 8-5 score that leveled the match at 1-game all. Captain Dodie Villanueva and Donna Morte took the limelight by demolishing Julie Baquilar and Evie Abitong at 8-2 to win the match and the championship of Class B1 in the deciding third set. In the semifinals of the Category C, King Abdul Aziz Medical City (KAMC) decisioned Maghrabi Eye Center (MEEC) 2-1 with Happy Salvador and May Exibia marching over Kristin Marcelino and Angela Ramos on a one-sided score of 8-1. Naomi Quitoriano and Ashley Jao shut the light out on Barbie Padlan and Mia Alejo with an 8-6 card in the decisive set, that wasted the efforts of Hezyl Lozada, who kept MEEC hopes alive by beating a fighting Vangie Clarin at 8-4. The win moved KAMC to the final, and will face JIS-Sally, which earlier eliminated Enjaz-Magics 3-0 (8-1, 8-0, 8-0), on defaults after showing up with only two players. In the Higher Mix (MMX) bracket, Sarawat played heads-up when its doubles pairs reigned supreme over their rivals, with Sheila Harris and Dang Bangit's steady forehand top spins backed down Jhorn Dela Chica and Rhea Alimon in defensive stand to win the first set at 8-2. In the singles, Joy Siongco maintained unblemished record, and gave KAMC a set by demolishing Jean Gandia with an 8-3 score, as Sarawat combination of Fenn Dela Torre and Tatah Martinez, emerged triumphant via a close 8-6 decision over Ashley Jao and Weng Valenzuela for a place in the final.
