Under the title “Kingdom of Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow”, Princess Sita Bint Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz launched Sunday the first four-day students' conference organized by the Students Union at Dar Al-Hekma College. The conference, which hosts some 60 female students from different universities and colleges across the Kingdom, gives participants a chance to meet and exchange ideas on how to be effective leaders in the society. Dr. Suhair Al-Qurashi, Dean of Dar Al-Hekma College, who expressed her gratitude to Princess Seeta for patronizing the conference, said that the event is part of the college's continuous efforts to hold annual activities where students' creativity and talents can be positively displayed. “The conference is an occasion to observe female leadership and creativity in various fields. Moreover, it also contributes to the preparation of future leaders through deepening Islamic values in future female leaders,” Dr. Qurashi said. She added that the conference, which was attended by a number of female students from different universities and colleges, is a chance to benefit from the creativeness of female students and encourage them to recall past inspiration and realize their current time to feed into the development of the nation. Law representative at the Students' Union, Lamis Bajunaid, who chaired the conference, pointed out that the meeting aims to encourage young female students to make and lead their future. “Achieving this goal, female students can contribute to their own development and that of their country. This can be done by highlighting the capability of students to become effective members of their society,” Bajunaid said. She added that the conference gives participants a chance to study various historical aspects of Saudi leadership and be inspired by the treasures of past times which will prepare them for future challenges. “The conference can also impress upon young female students the importance of respecting their heritage and cultural identity so that we can all find solutions to a better future,” Bajunaid added.
